the mission is over

USA is on its way out of Iraq. They leave a faint country on the brink of chaos, infinitely far from what George W. Bush promised the Iraqis and the world.
U.S. formally ended its combat mission in Iraq Tuesday, several thousand U.S. troops left the country.
Former President George W. Bush has been sharply criticized for that he had already in 2003 declared “mission accomplished” – assignments carried out – in Iraq.
- You will not hear those words from us, “said Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs.
over 4000 Americans killed in a war that was one of the longest and most expensive U.S. has ever fought.
The highest price paid for the Iraqis. No one knows how many have been killed and wounded in the violence that followed the invasion, the 100,000 is a conservative estimate. while several Iraqi independent resources say it may be close to 1,500,000, other than large number of disable people ,widows ,orphans and billions of dollars wasted in unfinished projects and corruption
Dictator Saddam Hussein was overthrown, but the basis for the war has been the subject of massive criticism
Iraq had a kind of freedom, but without confidence. They had a country that was split up along ethnic and religious lines.
The sectarian poison existed before the Americans came, but it had to flow freely and even if Iraq carried out a parliamentary election five months ago, they have yet no government
The list of Iyad Allawi, a secular Shiite Muslim, won the election with 91 representatives, thanks to the votes of the Sunni Arabs, but not enough to form a majority.
His main rival, the Shiite Muslim Nouri al-Maliki had 89 representatives. Al-Maliki can not collect the other Shiites under his leadership and the Kurds are not enough to change the balance.
And there’s the situation. No conflicts are resolved.

Everything is frozen while the insurgents in Al Qaeda itself has begun to stir. Iraq’s neighboring countries since the beginning had long fingers into Iraq, primarily Iran.
iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki stressed that Iraq is now an independent country and ready to take over responsibility for security.
- This is the day that will remain in the Iraqi people’s memory. Today Iraq has a sovereign and independent country. As of today, our security forces take the lead role in the work of security and defense of our country, “he said in a televised speech to the people.
- I assure you that the Iraqi security forces are able to take the whole responsibility.
Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari warned at the same time Iraq’s neighbors not to meddle in its affairs when American combat missions are over.
- We have said that there will be a security vacuum, and if vacuum occurs, however, it will be filled by Iraqis, “said Zebari said.
That is why many Iraqis as before, they wanted unpopular occupation troops from Iraq as far as possible, now starting to doubt

U.S. leaves 50,000 troops, there may be enough to create problems, too few to resolve them. Now, the mission aimed at training. Soldiers have called a supporting role and should not participate in combat without the Iraqi government requests it
The situation is so uncertain that the Iraqi army chief Babakir Zebari said the Americans should get to 2020. It is a statement that perhaps was not entirely deliberate, but it says something about the insecurity of even the most powerful of the Iraqi institutions.
U.S. uses almost more money on military than the whole world together, but The Iraq war showed military power limitations. The American military can operate conquest wars with deadly efficiency, but does not resolve the situation that occurs afterwards. They won most of the battles and lost the war.
Iraq since the beginning of 2010 and especially after march elections showed deep influence of Iran in Iraq fate and future ,Iraqi leaders fear Iran more than they listen to American ,soon Iran will dig deeper in Iraqi politics and economy ,making Iraq move faster into Iran power than democratic free west allied the war seek to produce ,whatever will happen in Iraq in near future will show its first signs in the government formation and security control ,and for many loyal Iraqi people who wanted to protect democracy and change Iraqi to became a human rights and civilized modern country ,they worry about the future , cause it is not looking optimistic

  1. We have mixed feelings in the USA, too. It was good to see Saddam’s evil stopped, but war is NEVER the final answer. No one wins wars anymore, I don’t think. I voted for Mr. Obama because he seemed to understand that America is not responsible for the other nations of the world that have the education and resources to be responsible for themselves. While the combat troops are gone, please do not believe that the USA no longer cares about a successful future for Iraq.
Independence and self-government are frightening responsibilities, and it takes people who are willing to work together on what’s important to make freedom work. There are differences of opinion, of course, but set some common goals – security, shared resources, care of the people, and care for each other – and the rest will happen. Have patience with yourselves, and with the world, and PRAY! There’s a saying that is one of my favorites: Work as if everything depends on you, and pray as if everything depends on God.
    All the best.

  2. of course what you say is right ,in the end we are the ones who will take charge of our fate ,but we also need all our friends to stand with us to protect our democracy
