iraqi elections 2010:Allawi won

the party of former Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi has won the election on the new National Assembly, according to the official election results.

The election was 7 March, but first this afternoon announced the Electoral Commission the final choice.

Allawis alliance Iraq-block won the enumeration of the sitting Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki’s alliance with 91 against 89 seats in parliament.

The Iraqi elections were credible and a success, says UN envoy to Iraq.

- The United Nations informed opinion that this election has been credible, and we congratulate the Iraqi people with this success, says UN envoy Ad Melkert.

He asks the various parties to respect the election results.

Whether Maliki will continue as prime minister, or Allawi takes over, the winner must co-operate with other parties. The other two lists who has been a significant number of the votes are, respectively, the Iraqi National Alliance and the Kurdish bloc Kurdistania.
Maliki will have to try to cooperate national alliance. It consists partly of the former rebel leader Moqtada al-Sadr movement and the Iraqi Supreme Islamic Council. At the last parliamentary elections cooperation with these Maliki’s Dawa party, while at the employee’s choice lined up in different koallisjoner.
Allawi is in turn likely to try to get into a partnership with Kurdistania and Sunni Arab representatives. As it looks now Maliki is the best way, as the National Alliance made a better choice than Kurdistania.

Both the campaign and Election Day 7 March was marked by violence, At least 42 people were killed and 65 wounded when two bombs went off in the Iraqi town of Gales Friday.
The town lies in Diyala province, 80 kilometer north of the capital Baghdad. The bombs went off in front of a cafe and restaurant in the city, which lies near the Diyala capital of Baquba.
One of the bomb should have been placed in a car, while the second was a roadside bomb.
The attack comes on the same day as the final results of elections in Iraq will be announced.
